How to Lose Weight Eating Cookies
Cookies and milk anyone? These two go together like Ozzie and Harriet, Laurel and Hardy, like Lucy and Ethel, like Captain and Tennille. Ok, I am aging myself a little, so if you are a generation X-er, I apologize. But, these are things we like together. Well, what if I told you that you can find a diet that will let you eat cookies and lose weight? Would you be interested in this combination?
Shazaam, there is such a diet. The makers, Smart for Life have made a “smart cookie” that will help people lose up to 15 pounds per month. Let’s see, that’s nearly 4 pounds per week, or put another way- twice the recommended amount of weight loss considered safe. A famous golfer who is behind the cookie diet claims that he lost 21 pounds in six weeks! And his daughter lost 52 pounds. (See the Kansas City Star Friday, May 11, 2007 section D8 Life is sweet for Champions’ Colbert).
Okay, did you think I was in support of this “dumb cookie”? Let me break this down for you. Smart for Life says that if you eat up to 6 cookies a day along with some regular food and you don’t eat more than 800 calories per day then you lose the weight. Wait. Back the cookie train up a bit: did they say 800 calories per day?! That’s right-800 calories per day. That is less than what is considered safe by any measure. Only people under the supervision of a physician should ever eat less than 1200 calories per day.
Additionally, by going on a starvation diet, you are actually training your body to hold onto body fat, not get rid of it. You see, your body is smart, not the cookie. When you deprive your body of needed calories to function, it begins to look for energy and it finds it in the form of muscle, which is protein and when it eats up the muscle, your metabolism slows down to such a state that you grow tired, you don’t exercise and you get better and better at holding onto that which your body needs the most to survive: body fat.
Will you lose weight eating cookies? Yes. Will you lose weight eating butter (I know that sounds gross)? Yes. You can even lose weight just drinking beer. But, the question you should ALWAYS ask is, what kind of weight am I losing? In this case, with the aforementioned diets, you are losing primarily water, muscle and then some body fat. And as I already mentioned, muscle is metabolism and metabolism burns fat.
So, if you want to lose weight and keep it off and not screw up your metabolic hormones in the process where you may never recover, then you need to do the following: go to www.hpibootcamp.com and order my FREE Special Report: The Truth About Weight Loss and Nutrition. If not and you want a quick fix then you can have your milk and cookies and you will be like another famous duo, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston, oops they didn’t make it either.
