Avoiding Gym Germs -- Winter is the time of the year when fitness gyms become a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria as the cold and flu season hits high gear. You can avoid going to the gym until spring or better yet, you can take some measurable steps to insure that you don’t fall victim to the gym germs. Learn how here. The 8 Essential Strength Training Movements -- Walk into any large gym today and you will see a wide variety of equipment designed to work different muscles. By taking a count of the many different looking machines, you might guess that there were hundreds of different strength training movements. But, on closer inspection you notice that as the gym members work out there is a similarity of movement patterns. If you use your imagination and observe what body parts are being worked on the machines you will see that there are really 6 basic movement patterns.
